The property has a gorgeous view of the ocean that is one of a kind and a peacefulness that can’t be matched anywhere else, in our opinion. "This is the second time we have stayed at Cooks Cottage and it was even better the second time! It’s immaculate, two king beds for two couples is perfect, well stocked kitchen "Great location, everything the pictures promise. Very well equipped and balcony perfect for dining and enjoying the view. We hiked Gualala State Park and Pt Arena and will explore further the next time we visit. There will be a next time. And, Coasting Homes were always on hand to supplement logs (not wood) for the fireplace we really enjoyed on the chilly evenings."

"We enjoyed our stay at the home. We enjoyed the views and the house was clean and well maintained. The renting company was available for any problems and even shipped a suitcase that we forgot. Thank you very much. We cook a lot and the kitchen was very good and came stocked with some of the basic necessities. I would definitely recommend the property. The beds and all furniture were comfortable and well maintained. The bathrooms were large and all functional without problems. The only problem was that the internet at the time of the stay was only intermittently available as was the phone. If this is a continuing feature and you need consistent internet for your business, as I did, I would inquire as to reliability. Cell phone availability at the property was spotty."
"This cottage was perfect for my husband's birthday week. We love the ocean and listening to the waves and this place fulfilled that love. The views are great from all the windows in the living areas. Our first day we saw a whale spouting and swimming to the water surface. Every morning the deer would be grazing in the grasses along the bluff top and the backyard of the cottage. Houses in this area are not side by side so it has a very peaceful feeling. The cottage is very neat and clean. The only hindrance would be the number of steps if you have mobility issues - over 30 to the cottage separated by landings every 3 to 7 steps. Upon entering the cottage there is an entry (landing) at the break between the lower and top floors so you either go up half a flight of stairs or go down half a flight. Cell phone reception is poor in the whole town of Gualala. But, who needs a cell phone when you can listen to the ocean? Myself, husband and another couple loved Cook Cottage. The views were amazing. The house had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable and clean. Highly recommend."

"What a fantastic place to stay. The views alone give this rental 5 stars. The house was very comfortable and close to town. We saw whales, seals, and deer just sitting on the back deck. We'll be back again for sure. "

"We brought my in-laws here as a mothers/fathers day gift. We never know what to get them so for the past couple of years we have brought them to Gualala so we could all enjoy it together. Gualala is my favorite place in all the world. I fell in love with it about 4 years ago. We have stayed at some nice places but never anything as wonderful as Cook Cottage! This house is absolutely lovely with stunning views. The best thing about this home is how comfortable it was. Ive never stayed in a place that so well maintained and had anything that you needed available. The appliances and the kitchen were top notch and well appreciated. The owners must be amazing people to entrust their home to others and I really appreciate their thoughtfulness and kindness. I did not want to leave but I hope the next time, our stay can be a little longer. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the best of the best! "
"We're looking forward to a third stay next year. We might even skip Hawaii to do our whale watching here next spring. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. (The only exception is when the smoke alarm went off about 2am in our room, apparently it malfunctioned. Husband knocked it down with a broom because there's no ladder.) Our favorite time was Thursday night on the balcony with so bright moonlight it almost looked like day. It was so gorgeous on the water and we could see way out in the ocean. It was almost 65 degrees with very little breeze until 11pm."
